Carbon-Z Scimitar BNF and PNP
The stunning Carbon-Z™ Scimitar™ is a high performance compound delta wing aircraft that has many unique features; Q-Powered Vectored-Thrust Propeller system, optional retracts, rudder control, and of course the use of the highly durable Carbon-Z construction technology.

Carbon Z is a manufacturing process that combines foam with carbon fibre reinforcements resulting in a model that is stronger than a balsa counterpart while maintaining a similar weight. Additionally the foam outer material is not affected by changes in temperature or weather, which ensures that it will look great right out of the box.
The foam outer material is designed to survive minor crashes with minimal damage, but in the event of a less than perfect landing, the Scimitar is designed to be easily repaired. Minor dents to the foam outer surface can be repaired easily in the field and replacement wings, fins, control surfaces, and landing gear are readily available if the model sustains more substantial damage.

The unique Q-Powered Vectored-Thrust Propeller system has been tuned to the exacting specifications recommended by designer and champion pilot Quique Somenzini, allowing the Carbon-Z Scimitar to produce extreme aerobatic manoeuvres never before seen with flying wings. The customised power system consists of a power 32 brushless outrunner motor, 4S 3200 LiPo battery and 60-Amp ESC delivering an impressive thrust-to-weight ratio of approximately 2-1.
Digital high-speed precision servos are also included, resulting in quicker response time to every input received from the pilot.

With Quique's customised power system, aerodynamic design, and the Thrust Vector system, the Carbon-Z Scimitar is sure to excite the most demanding of electric power enthusiasts with a unique aircraft that can be flown in no time at all right out of the box and produce thrills and manoeuvres that have no limits!

Single-Axis Vectored-Thrust Propeller System
The Carbon-Z Scimitar comes equipped with a remarkable brushless power system that was developed by Quique Somenzini specifically for this airplane. Every component in the system was chosen expressly to determine the kind of unlimited performance you would expect from a uniquely manoeuvrable compound delta wing design. Harnessing the vector thrust system, a robustly engineered motor mount with oversized ball bearing support pivots the motor on the yaw axis through an all-new E-flite digital high-speed, metal-geared mini servo.
The result is a system that gives the Carbon-Z Scimitar not only outstanding thrust, but also the manoeurability to explore a list of aerobatics not possible with a conventional aeroplane.
Propeller System
Inverted Super Flat Spins
From inverted at a high altitude, reduce airspeed to induce a stall and then hold full down elevon input and full right rudder to start the spin. As throttle is slowly raised to increase rotation rate, neutralise elevon and maintain full right rudder. When maximum throttle is reached, the spin rate will be incredible. To cancel the rotation, hold full power and quickly reverse rudder input. To exit, reduce throttle and allow the Scimitar to nose down, regain airspeed and fly out.
Pinwheel
From level flight at a comfortable altitude, add full throttle, then elevon input to climb at a 45º angle. Add roll input to achieve knife-edge flight, then quickly add full rudder to rotate the nose upward. Holding full rudder and full power will tuck, then spin the Scimitar vertically at an incredible rate. To exit, hold full power and input opposite rudder. Regain airspeed and fly out.
What is Carbon-Z?
Carbon-Z is a patent pending construction technique that fuses the lightweight durability of a Z-Foam™ structure with the superior strength and rigidity of carbon fibre. The result is a structure that is every bit as strong and light as an all-wood airframe, yet takes advantage of mold technology to create complex design features that are simply not practical using traditional construction methods. Better still, the modular airframe components of a Carbon-Z design make repairs easy. Almost every component, including control surfaces and the nose, can be replaced with nothing more than a screwdriver. No gluing, sanding or covering necessary.
